Sang Huynh

Sang is currently pursuing his Master’s degrees in Actuarial Science at the joint program between Institut de Science Financière et d’Assurances, France (ISFA) and National Economics University (NEU), Vietnam. He is interested in mathematical statistics, recreational programming, and making study notes for actuarial exams. Beyond numbers and algorithms, he is also an amateur musician and can often be found playing the viola.

Society of Actuaries’ Student Research Case Study Challenge 2024

  • Collaborated with a team of five to develop a health incentive program for a fictional insurance company, reaching the semifinals.
  • Conducted research on existing health incentive programs and their impact on policyholder behavior.
  • Assisted in experience study and constructing a mortality table to assess potential program outcomes.
  • Analyzed risk factors and developed risk mitigation strategies within the program design.

Sun Life Vietnam, IT Intern (Aug - Nov 2023)

  • Designed a framework leveraging Large Language Models with question-answering prompts to analyze Call Center recordings to ensure selling integrity, presenting the proposal to the Chief Information Offcer.
  • Conducted research on vector and graph database solutions for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) tasks to enhance the Call Center framework’s performance, delivering insights to the Head of Architecture.
  • Developed a tool to preprocess Call Center recordings in preparation for Machine Learning tasks.
